Talking about religion
In this site we are promoting relationships between people who belong to different religions. We suggest that the characteristics of these relations are mutual respect, friendship and neighbourly care and cooperation.
There are at least two key indicators that these positive relations are being achieved.
Indicator 1. Members of different religious communities organise and/or participate in multi faith events. Such events are designed to allow community representatives describe their religious beliefs, teachings, and practices. They often also include statements about what all people share in common.
Indicator 2. Increasing numbers of local religious community members meet each other in informal situations where friendly conversation occurs easily and spontaneously.
In our experience we have found that when members of different religions participate in public multi faith events, friendships develop and conversations about a whole range of life issues, including religion, occur naturally.
